What will a consultation look like?
So, our consultations are a one on one chat- I usually prefer to do them in person if possible, I feel like there’s less mis-communication that way, but it’s up to you, we can do it over the phone or by video call.
I will ask things about your event like this:
What type of event is it? (wedding, birthday party, graduation party, etc)
What’s the venue set up like? (so we can assess what our setup needs to be, are we bringing our portable bar or working with what’s there? do we need a canopy? do we have accessible power? etc)
How many people? (to start an estimate, and gauge which package option might be best for you.)
What the decor is? (so we can customize the menu and make it match, also so we can get some cute garnish picks and help make it all cohesive)
What style of drinkers will be there? (this is to help us estimate how many drinks per person will be there, and help us devise a shopping list)
What kind of bar you’re wanting? (full bar, signature cocktails only, a mimosa bar, a martini bar, a non-alcoholic bar, coffee bar, soda bar, etc)
How would you like to do the gratuity? (we can put out a tip jar, or we can do a 20% service charge at the time of booking, completely up to you).
What are your go-to drinks? (so we can get a sense of your palette style)
When will I get my quote?
Typically, I can give a tentative quote based on your party size, however, there are a couple factors that go into giving a quote.
Package Choice
Add-Ons
Possible Travel Fee
Payment Plans*
So the most accurate quote is given after the consultation, however, if you see the questions and things I’m looking for and just want to shoot me a quick email, I’d be happy to send over what I can based on that.
Next Steps…
So you’ve done the consultation, what comes next?
If we decide that it’s a good match (fingers crossed), then we will move on to booking. Booking does require a deposit- generally about 50% of the total cost, but I’m flexible and will work with you.
From there we will decide if you want to do a tasting trial. Just like catering, we want to make sure the flavors are what you’re hoping for, and it can be REALLY difficult to choose menu items mentally without ever tasting them, ESPECIALLY if you’ve never had things before. So I personally recommend going this route, to make absolutely 100% certain that your drink menu goes with the food, and with what make you happy.
What does the tasting trial look like?
Tasting trials can look a few different ways, but generally its several 1.5 oz sample pours of certain cocktails. You’ll be able to make customization changes, such as garnish types, certain flavor tweaks. I typically make samples with well-mid shelf liquors, if you’re opting for top shelf liquors be aware that it might change the flavor profile of the drink a little bit, but I can taste test before event day or if you let me know before the trial I can get those liquors for us to try.
I will also have snacks available for trial days, both to make sure those samples don’t sneak up on you, and for you to see what possible flavor combos could be.
If you don’t know what you want- THAT’S OKAY! I have several sampling menus and I will happily send some over along with my ever ongoing drink bible so that you can pick which things you’d like to try and we can go from there.
Now, we can do this all in the same day right after your consultation, or we can schedule it for a separate day, it’s up to you!
The #1 thing I want you to keep in mind, is that flavors are 100% subjective to whoever is tasting them. I will never judge you for your preferences, or for changing your mind. The only thing I will ever ask of you is to try things at least once, because you never know what’s going to be your new favorite thing! Oh, and I will ask you to let me know if you or any of your guests have known food allergies- those are important too!
I can’t WAIT to work with you, please reach out with any questions!
